What is a Thermowell

A Thermowell is a protective sleeve/enclosure used for Bimetallic Thermometers and Temperature measurement devices such as thermocouples and resistance temperature detectors, which will help extend the life of these instruments from the corrosion and abrasion often found in industrial processes. Thermowells will prevent service conditions from effecting the performance of the Temperature Sensors. A Thermowell allows the temperature sensor to be removed and replaced without compromising either the ambient region or the process. In some case this will eliminate down time.
